Surface Flooding Renders Hundred Homeless In Benin
Many residents of Benin City, the Edo State capital have been rendered homeless following the heavy down pour that lasted for several hours on Saturday.
According to a Leadership Newspaper correspondent who went round to monitor situation in the capital city, “several houses were submerged by the flood, several others were destroyed”.
According to the report the areas worst hit however includes several parts of the Government Reserve Area (GRA), 1st East Circular, Akenwan road, Sakponba road, Erediauwa, off Sapele road, Okhoro as well as Ugbowo areas of the city.
The rampaging flood also destroyed several cars.

Five States Get Refund Of N148bn Spent On Federal Roads, Bridges
According to a report on Nigerian Tribune, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at a virtual meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday approved the refund of about N148,141,987,161.25 expended by five states to rehabilitate some federal roads and bridges.
This refund is in favour of Rivers (N78,953,067,518.29), Cross River (N18,394,737,608.85), Ondo (N7,822,147,577.08), Osun (N2,468,938,876.78) and Bayelsa (N38,040,564,783.40).
