Aiyedatiwa Urges APC to Unite for Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid
Ondo
State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has called on members of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) to remain united and committed as preparations intensify for
President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign.
Speaking at the APC’s quarterly stakeholders’ meeting in Ondo State, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that internal cohesion is critical to sustaining the party’s strength and ensuring victory at the polls. He warned that divisions arising from personal ambitions or clashing interests could weaken the APC, stressing that unity is more important than ever as political activities begin to gather momentum.
The
governor highlighted that the quarterly stakeholders’ meeting was designed to
foster dialogue, feedback, and cooperation among party members, while also serving
as a platform to assess political and developmental progress across the state.
He urged members to pursue their political aspirations responsibly, without
undermining party leadership or fellow members, noting that internal conflicts
often pose greater risks than opposition parties.
In his
remarks, Aiyedatiwa pointed to achievements in governance, including increased
investments in the health sector, renovation of medical facilities, and the
deployment of standby ambulances across all local government areas. He also
mentioned the Federal Government’s approval of the revalidation of Ondo State’s
deep seaport licence, which had previously been misdocumented but has now been
corrected to reflect the state’s identity.
The APC
Chairman in Ondo State, Ade Adetimehin, represented by Vice Chairman Atili
Agabra, praised the governor’s administration for creating job opportunities
for youths and maintaining active engagement with party structures.
APC National Vice Chairman (South-West), Isaac Kekemeke, also affirmed Aiyedatiwa’s leadership role in the state, describing him as the chief mobiliser for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Kekemeke noted that most criticisms of the government
were coming from within the APC itself, while opposition parties such as the
PDP and Labour Party no longer posed serious threats in Ondo State.
This call
for unity underscores the strategic importance of Ondo State in the APC’s
broader national campaign.
Aiyedatiwa’s
message reflects both a warning against internal discord and a rallying cry for
collective effort, positioning the state as a stronghold for Tinubu’s 2027
re-election drive.
