Former American President, Barack Obama via his twitter handle wishes everyone a “Happy Pride Month” with the message “Today reminds us that progress might be slow. It might take decades. But no matter what things might look like today, it’s always possible. Happy Pride Month, everybody.”
According to Wikipedia, the month of June was chosen
for LGBT Pride Month to commemorate the Stonewall riots, which occurred at the end of June 1969. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact LGBT people have had in the world.
