Federal Government Shortlists Candidates for NSCDC, NIS, and Fire Service CBT
On October 29, 2025, the Civil Defence,
Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) officially
announced the shortlist of candidates eligible for the next phase of
recruitment into Nigeria’s paramilitary agencies.
This development marks a significant milestone in the ongoing recruitment exercise for the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
According to a statement released by the
board’s secretary, retired Major General Abdulmalik Jubril, candidates who
applied for any of the four paramilitary agencies are advised to visit the
board’s official recruitment portal, https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng,
starting Thursday, October 30, 2025.
On the portal, applicants can verify whether
they have been shortlisted and obtain details regarding the Computer-Based Test
(CBT), including the venue, date, and time scheduled for their respective
assessments.
The board emphasized the importance of using
the correct portal address to avoid falling victim to fraudulent recruitment
schemes.
This caution comes in light of previous
warnings issued about fake messages and websites impersonating official
recruitment channels.
The CDCFIB reiterated its commitment to
transparency and fairness throughout the recruitment process.
Earlier in August 2025, PUNCH Online reported
that a staggering 1,911,141 Nigerians had applied for the recruitment exercise
before the portal closed on August 11. This overwhelming response underscores
the high demand for employment opportunities within Nigeria’s paramilitary
services and the competitive nature of the selection process.
Shortlisted candidates are expected to take
note of all instructions provided on the portal and prepare adequately for the
CBT, which serves as a critical step in determining their suitability for
service in the respective agencies.
The board’s announcement signals the
beginning of a more rigorous phase of evaluation, aimed at selecting the most
qualified individuals to serve in roles that are vital to national security and
public safety.
