This Morning, Vice President, Prof. Yemi
Osibanjo, virtually decleared open the National Council On Development Planning
Meeting which is part of the Activities marking the 20th Edition of Joint
Planning Board/National Council on Development Planning (JPB/ NCDP) Meeting
Holding in Maiduguri.
In his Welcome Remark, the the Chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC) Alhaji Adamu Lawan, the Finance Commissioner, Borno State stated that the meeting is the Apex Planning Board aim at aiding and Guiding Policy Makers to Develop a Qualitative Plans to National, Sub National, and Local Governments. Adding that this years Edition is being Hosted in Collaboration with Borno State Government.
Also in attendance are the Executive
Governor of Borno State, Professor Banagana Umara Zulum, His Deputy Alhaji Umar
Usman Kadafur, while Minister of Finance, Budget And National Planning Hajiya
Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed also Joint Vartiually.
In his address, the Governor Welcome the
delegates to Borno and thanked the Federal Ministry of Planning for Hosting the
Meeting in Borno. For the planning Board, the Governor advocated that they
should also strategies and give attention to implementation of plans otherwise
the theme of the Meeting managing the Nigerian Economy For Sustainable Development
will not be reality.
In her Goodwill massage, Hajiya Zainab
Shamsuna Ahmed Calls for Robust discussion which help in addressing the
Economic challenges of the Country Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic.
The Vice president Similarly Call on the
Board Members and Delegates of the Meeting to Design and come up with a
Strategic plans towards Economic Growth and Sustainable Development through
Renewable Energy and Technology.
Highlights of the Event was the
presentation of 556 Capital Projects of Gov Zulum in Two Years by the state
Commissioner of Information Alhaji Babakura Abba Jato
