The world
of music has lost one of its most radiant voices. Jimmy Cliff, the Jamaican
singer, songwriter, and actor whose work carried reggae far beyond the shores
of the Caribbean, has died at the age of 81.
His wife, Latifa Chambers, confirmed that he passed away following a seizure and pneumonia, closing the chapter on a career that spanned more than six decades.
