Some
school of thought submits “dress the way you would want to be addressed”. Good
one. But let me shock you with this, if I may; it’s now a research fact that
the way you walk also has a lot to do with your health and personality.
1.
THE WRAPPED UP IN THOUGHT. Persons in
this category can’t walk around without simultaneously buried in thought. They’re
always prone to all kind of risks while walking. To them, as long as their
movement is unhindered nothing else in the world matters.
2.
THE TENSED AND WORRIED. Anxiety and tension create ‘worry’ for some people. As
such if you allow this trait envelope you it definitely distorts your walk
pattern.
3.
THE DRUNK. Alcohol abuse is closely related with insanity. It creates a poor
sense of balance. A consistent attitude of drunkenness overtime not only
weakens the muscles but distorts the sense of orientation of the individual
even when such individual is not drunk.
4.
THE SICK. Sickness does influences one’s walk pattern. Alzheimer for instance, is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other
important mental functions. Psychosis, a mental disorder characterized by a
disconnection from reality is another mind bending disease capable of
disordering one’s walk pattern. Also we have “Dementia” (group of thinking and
social symptoms that interferes with daily functioning), Parkinson's Disease
(disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, often including
tremors), Autism (serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to
communicate and interact) Sclerosis (a disease which the immune system eats
away at the protective covering of nerves) and Clinical Depression (mental
health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest
in activities, causing significant impairment in daily life), all of these
including Brain Injury, Back Pain, Weak Muscles, Monthly Cycle (females) and
unnoticed or unexpected injury can compel one to a particular walk pattern.
However,
we have some persons that are disposed to a walk type that is consistently
inclined to their personality either by nature, calling or career. Many of us
belong here and you can conveniently recognize one as either yours or someone
else’s:
5.
THE ENERGETIC. Some persons are so energetic they practically move with the
speed of light. This is the fast walker. A walk with such individual can only
leave you behind in history while he approaches the future, that is. Individuals
in this category have a higher level of consciousness and are most unlikely
depressed, jealous, lonely, frustrated and envious. They are hardly angered, moody,
worried or anxious about anything.
6.
THE FOOT DRAGGER. This is the slow walker. If you must catch your train in good
time you had better not seek company from a slow walker. This individual drags
feet even at the shortest pacing. But then the worst part of this walk type is
that the concerned individual is often sad, weak and unable to disconnect self
from worries and traumatic experiences.
7.
THE LIGHT WEIGHT. This is the cautious walker. Almost like tip-toeing, the individual with
this walk type is often super conscious about the immediate environment and
surroundings and can be really shy and more often than not looks upset at all
times.
8.
THE LEISURE WALKER. If you belong here then run up the mountain top and give a
big ‘Thank You’ to your creator. The leisure walker is a very relaxed
individual with soft – slow – rhythmic steps. More often than not this
individual can multi-task and do so excellently well. The leisure walker is a
good communicator and a great listener even while walking irrespective of the
distance.
9.
THE WALKING STAMP. The individual(s) with this walk type derives its name from
walking with heavy stamping of the feet. This individual who could be a sadist of
some sort gets easily infuriated even at the slightest provocation.
