The Dalai Lama has received his first dose of coronavirus vaccine

The Dalai Lama has received his first dose of coronavirus vaccine, reports Sky news.

After being given a jab tonight at the Zonal Hospital in north India, the report reveals that the 85 year old spiritual leader urged others to be brave and get vaccinated.

"In order to prevent some serious problems, this injection is very, very helpful", he said.

Ten other people who live in the Dalai Lama's residence were also vaccinated.

Each of them according to Sky news, received the Covishield vaccine, developed by Oxford University and AstraZaneca and manufactured by the Serum institute of India.
