Just a day ago Punch Newspapers brought us a report captioned “Meet Lagos Hawker Who Gave Money To Prison Inmates In Lagos Traffic”.
Today the same news media has updated the report with the caption “Viral Video: Obi Cubana to sponsor hawker to university”.
According to the earlier report, Ekuma Jeremiah, the hawker, who was caught on camera giving money to the occupants of a Nigerian Correctional Service bus in the area of Ajah, Lagos State, said he did it because he was concerned for them.
Ekuma had said he had no ulterior motive for his action, as he only considered himself to be in a better place than they were and wished to help them.
Well, his bank details were stated in the report.
However, SEB, from the follow-up report gathers that luck has found Ekuma Jeremiah with one of Nigeria’s popular billionaire, Obi Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, who has reportedly made known his intention to sponsor the young boy’s tertiary education in any institution of his choice.
We are told Cubana made this known to the public on Saturday, during an interview with a broadcaster and radio talk show host, Ifedayo Olarinde, popularly known as Daddy Freeze
Speaking during the short Instagram live interview, Punch Newspaper report states that Obi Cubana said, “Love should be shown in our actions and not just in our words. I want to meet the young boy who despite being a hawker, gave N100 notes to people in a prison van and was not even aware that he was been filmed by a concerned passer-by who was driving on the same road.
“Anyone who knows him should connect the boy with Daddy Freeze or me. I want him to go to school in good condition, and I would see him through the University, and if he wants to do his Master’s degree abroad, I would also make sure that he is comfortable while going to school because his generosity touched me.
