Though we oppose open Police industrial action, we fear that the sack of the proposed strike’s ringleaders will worsen situations within the Force and the system as a whole. It will only lead the rest of the personnel to bottle up their feelings and impose the peace of the graveyard.
What an irony that the same police personnel sent to quell the first anniversary of the #EndSARS protest on October 20, 2021 are now left to protest for themselves over their poor conditions of service! It is now obvious that the measures the Presidency and Police authorities took to “appease” the #EndSARS protesters in terms of police welfare made no meaningful impact.

1. Allow yourself time to grieve
It is natural to feel a range of emotions after the death of a spouse, including sadness, grief, anger, and guilt. Give yourself time to mourn the loss, and don't be afraid to express your feelings. It may help to talk to someone who can understand what you are going through. You can also find support groups specifically for those who have lost a spouse.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had on last week Friday announced that it was banning him from all of the organization’s events for 10 years for slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.

A friend and a moocher are two drastically different things. A friend is somebody who genuinely cares about you. A moocher is someone who “exploits the generosity of others” (“Moocher Definition & Meaning,” Merriam-Webster Dictionary, 2022). It is not uncommon for a moocher to easily slip into a friend group and try to present themselves as a “friend.” If you are wondering if your “friend” is a moocher, here are five ways to differentiate a true friend from someone abusing your kindness:
A Moocher Never Pays You Back
A definitive way to differentiate a friend from a moocher is if the individual never pays you back. While it is one thing if you treat a friend to a birthday meal or a surprise cup of coffee, it is completely different if a person is always insisting that you pay the bill and they never pay you back. Real friends allow you to treat them for special occasions, but they would not insist on it every time.

The “manifesto”, signed by 11 prominent activists including Lev Ponomaryov, Oleg Orlov, and Svetlana Gannushkina, announces the creation of a new anti-war council of Russian human rights defenders and is the broadest collective statement against the war by the Russian human rights community to date.
The activists say they will seek to help Russians avoid taking part in the war against Ukraine and to demand that the Ministry of Defence releases accurate information about the number of Russian soldiers killed in the war.
Mr Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works and Housing, says the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has been delivering infrastructural projects in spite of meagre resources.

According to him, the massive infrastructural
development differentiates the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The conference, with the theme: “Consolidating Democracy: Scorecard, Impact and the Road Ahead”, is to discuss current and future policy direction of the APC.
