The Okey Ezeala's Viral Post

Okey Ezeala, an Abia State politician gets the social media boiling with his shared Facebook post "RAPE IS EVIL, BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS TO A DECENT SOUL - every victim played a role".

The post has since been condemned by many across the world wide web.

This politician who contested a seat in Abia State House of assembly in the 2019 election on the the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC) is accused based on the Facebook post, of justifying rape and insinuating that victims of rape are indecent.

Five States Get Refund Of N148bn Spent On Federal Roads, Bridges

According to a report on Nigerian Tribune, the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at a virtual meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday approved the refund of about N148,141,987,161.25 expended by five states to rehabilitate some federal roads and bridges.

This refund is in favour of Rivers (N78,953,067,518.29), Cross River (N18,394,737,608.85), Ondo (N7,822,147,577.08), Osun (N2,468,938,876.78) and Bayelsa (N38,040,564,783.40).

Rape Is Now A Pandemic In Our Country - Atiku

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar this Wednesday on his twitter handle submits "I just spoke to the family of the late Uwa Omozuwa.  I expressed my deepest condolences over her rape and murder. I feel their anguish. Sadly, rape is now a pandemic in our country".

He however added that it is time we reviewed the laws on rape to ensure that there are no escape routes in the investigation, prosecution, conviction and adequate punishment for this heinous crime.

According to the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair,  African nations should use antibody tests to find out whether the slower spread and lower mortality rate of the new coronavirus on the continent is due to patchy data or a more resilient population.

 

Buhari Appoints A New Chief of Staff

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a new Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari.

Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, CFR, a Nigerian academic and diplomat is scheduled to resume work today wednessday. 

His appointment comes few weeks after the demise of Mallam Abba Kyari the former Chief of Staff to the President.

Demolishing a Hotel ... Absolutely Wrong - Yul Edochie

Many have aired there opinion about the recent demolishing of hotel in Rivers State by Governor Wike as a way to containing the spread of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Yul Edochie, a Nigerian Actor recently expressed his appointment in the Governor's action via his twitter handle "Demolishing a hotel bcos of non compliiance to a lockdown order is extreme. Staff rendered jobless & someone's investment grounded, in this time of very poor economy & high unemployement rate. Haba! Seal up the hotel, fine the owner, but not demolition. Absolutely wrong!"

In a tweet on his twitter handle this week he established that he was delighted by what he saw and the level of production ongoing at the mill.

BYAZHIN KUBWA ROAD IN 2020

Sometime ago we published a piece on the Abuja “Byazhin Kubwa Road” and blended it all with still and video materials to enable readers understand the true state of the same road as it were back then in 2103. This road is about the only access road inward Millionaire Quarters, Shelter Farms, Across and other parts of the Byazhin environs, and it’s the busiest night and day in terms of human and vehicular traffic. Yet it’s really in a terrible shape.

However, we did promise that we would try capturing the same road again in its present state (2020) to enable readers compare and contrast the possible developmental or dilapidated levels after about seven years now.
