As we work to continue to develop the states of the South-South geopolitical region, yesterday, I was delighted to welcome my dear friend and brother, Gov. Udom Emmanuel, for the inauguration of roads, bridges, and schools in Agbarho and Oleh.
Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State dropped this message on his post yesterday via his official social media handle.
In the message the governor stated further that "During the visit, we spoke extensively about the need for President Muhammadu Buhari to reconstitute the board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) without further delay.
"This is because, it is a great injustice to the people of the Niger Delta region for the Federal Government to continue to run the NDDC without a constituted board — as the current sole administratorship is not recognized by the establishing law.
"Moving forward, the NDDC board must be reconstituted to allow full representation of all the affected states, and to address the numerous agitations of the countless communities and stakeholders that fall under the Commission’s purview", the message read.
