FCT Security Spokespersons Forum Strategises to Strengthen Inter-Agency Collaboration
In a bid
to enhance security coordination and public communication within Nigeria’s Federal
Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Security Spokespersons Forum convened a
strategic meeting aimed at reinforcing inter-agency collaboration.
The gathering took place at the Federal Fire Service FCT Command Headquarters in Kubwa, Abuja, and brought together spokespersons and public relations officers from a wide array of security and emergency response agencies operating within the territory.
The
meeting was coordinated by SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations
Officer for the FCT Command, who also serves as the Forum’s coordinator.
According to her press statement, the session focused on developing innovative
communication strategies to improve public awareness, streamline information
management, and foster operational synergy among the various agencies.
The Forum
emphasized the critical role of effective communication and coordinated
messaging in building public trust and ensuring timely dissemination of
accurate information during emergencies and routine operations.
Representatives
from key agencies attended the meeting, including the Nigeria Police Force
(NPF), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety
Corps (FRSC), Nigerian Correctional Service (NSC), Nigeria Immigration Service
(NIS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the Federal Fire
Service. Their collective presence underscored the importance of unified
efforts in tackling security challenges and improving service delivery across
the FCT.
One of the major outcomes of the meeting was the unanimous agreement that collaboration should extend beyond periodic meetings. Members advocated for deeper integration through joint training programs, shared public enlightenment campaigns, and continuous engagement at various operational levels.
This
approach, they argued, would not only enhance the efficiency of individual
agencies but also foster a culture of mutual support and shared responsibility
in safeguarding the FCT.
The Forum’s initiative reflects a growing recognition of the need for multi-agency cooperation in addressing complex security and emergency management issues.
By
aligning their communication strategies and operational frameworks, the
participating agencies aim to create a more responsive and resilient security
architecture for the capital territory.
The
meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to sustaining the momentum of
collaboration and ensuring that the public remains well-informed and confident
in the efforts of their security institutions.
