Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi makinde today, during an inspection visit to the Saki general Hospital which is currently undergoing re-construction.

That was the submission of the Oyo State Government in its twitter handle. It added that the hospital will serve as a 200 bed isolation and treatment centre after re-construction.

Surface Flooding Renders Hundred Homeless In Benin

Many residents of Benin City, the Edo State capital have been rendered homeless following the heavy down pour that lasted for several hours on Saturday.

According to a Leadership Newspaper correspondent who went round to monitor situation in the capital city, “several houses were submerged by the flood, several others were destroyed”.

According to the report the areas worst hit however includes several parts of the Government Reserve Area (GRA), 1st East Circular, Akenwan road, Sakponba road, Erediauwa, off Sapele road, Okhoro as well as Ugbowo areas of the city.

The rampaging flood also destroyed several cars.
