May 8 to 11, thirty members of the Mudarasatul Adani Wa Izharul Islam (MAWIS) community at Minna, Niger State, are undergoing a training programme on mechanisms and strategies for intensifying the campaign for greater integrity in Nigeria, using the religious resources at their disposal.
"SAME OLD STORY", a story entrant on the AMA EBONY series finally comes to an end today. Zubee Villa Hotel is officially open for business in Abuja.
The grand opening which was held at the hotel’s premises last week in Kubwa had in attendance very distinguished personalities among others.
According to the hotel’s pioneer manager, Andrew Terver Ker, the final opening has been that of a long journey.

“It has been a very long journey”, Andrew said. “But thank God, we are here today and our aim and objective is to create a difference in the hospitality industry in Kubwa”
Kubwa is a fast-growing satellite town in Abuja with hotels and resort centers emerging daily. With the unveiling of Zubee villa Andrew says “excellent service” is simply the edge the hotel has over its competitors.

"The World Malaria Report 2021 reaffirmed the sorry reality of Nigeria and other SSA states: 80 per cent of all malaria deaths in the region were of children under age five. This is an unacceptably high toll that should be reversed at all costs.The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and the 36 state governors should take note of these figures: Nigeria, with 31.9 per cent of the total, led three other African countries to account for over half of the total global deaths. It was followed by Congo DR’s 13.2 per cent; Tanzania’s 4.1 per cent, and Mozambique’s 3.8 per cent. One study described malaria as Nigeria’s No.1 public health problem, accounting for 30 per cent of all under-five deaths, 25 per cent of deaths in infants and 11 per cent of maternal mortality.
The country has failed to utilise or maximise global interventions to reduce the disease burden. Both the 1998 Roll Back Malaria project aimed at malaria burden reduction by at least 50 per cent through precise interventions, and the 2005 Abuja Declaration to overturn malaria burden, were poorly executed. Till date, Nigeria falters and wobbles on lofty malaria eradication initiatives designed to reverse the trend. Like many other national programmes, there is no consistency in implementation as succeeding administrations and ministers often abandon ongoing activities halfway to promote empty new slogans.

European “Courage World Tour” dates May 25 through
September 24, 2022, Now Rescheduled to February 24 through October 4, 2023
As Celine Dion continues to recover from a recent health issue, the singer has announced she will be postponing her 2022 European “Courage World Tour” dates and rescheduling the shows to 2023. Celine had completed the first 52 shows on the tour before the pandemic emerged in March 2020, but recently has been treated for severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing, and her recovery is taking longer than she hoped. Her medical team continues to evaluate and treat the condition.
The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old widow, Jamila Abdullahi, for allegedly dealing in illicit drugs.

Haruna Kiyawa, in a statement on Monday, May 2, said the suspect confessed to
have been in the business of selling intoxicating drugs for over two years.
"On the 30/03/2022 at about 1200hrs,
credible pieces of information received revealed that one Jamila Abdullahi,
'f', 30 years old, of Kwanar Ungogo Quarters, Ungogo LGA Kano State engaged in
buying and selling of illicit drugs," the statement read.
I support IPOB’s agitation but I won’t condone violence - Gov Wike
Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has said
that he supports the agitation of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) but is
against the violent activities linked to the group.
In an interview with Channels TV, Governor Wike said that his problem with IPOB started when they allegedly came to Rivers to set ablaze government properties and force their membership on the residents of Rivers.
