TO IMPRESS HIS FRIEND JOHN CHATS WITH MICHAEL ABOUT HIS HOLIDAY ROMANCE WITH BUNMI. BUT THEN IT ONLY TURNS OUT THAT BUNMI IS MICHAEL’S FIANCEE
This story is set in the day at a leisure park in Lagos, Nigeria.
MICHAEL: Wao! John, it’s been ages since we last met.
JOHN: Yes. But I was in your neighbourhood last week, I asked after Saint and I was told you had moved.
MICHAEL: Even if I hadn’t moved you would have found it difficult tracing me with the name “Saint”. I am known as Mike around here You know, my real name. So how do find Lagos?
JOHN: Oh, wonderful. The ladies are really sweet. I travelled to Jos with one angel last week and we really had a great time together. S*x with her was hmmn… fantastic!
MICHAEL: Hmn… Can see you are still the same sexy old camel.
JOHN: Blame me not. Nature is the guilty one here, you know. Well, you seem to be waiting for someone here at the park … who is the lucky person?
MICHAEL: Ofcourse, I am waiting for … eh, what’s the problem? What are you starring at?
JOHN: Wao! (spotting Bunmi approaching) I can’t believe this …
MICHAEL: (confused) Can’t believe what?
JOHN: (both starring at Bunmi approaching) Th – Tha – That is the lady I travelled to Jos with last week. She must be looking for me. B – bu – but how did she know I could be here? Perhaps, she is only passing-by and just sighted me … Hey, she is almost here … Hi, Bunmi. Good to see you again so soon. (Silence as all seem dumbfounded at Bunmi’s arrival worsened by her shocking and hlpless stares at Michael). Hey, you two are just staring at each other… have you two met before?
MICHAEL: (sadly) Sure. Bunmi here has been my fiancée for years … So sorry, I never really told you about her.
JOHN: (shockingly) What?!
Mosquitoes
don’t practice social distancing. They don’t wear masks, either.
As COVID-19 spreads across the globe, it’s important to remember that the world’s deadliest animal hasn’t taken a break during this pandemic.
Mosquitoes are out biting every night, infecting millions of people with malaria—a disease that kills a child every other minute of every day.
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has explained why he left the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Daily Post reports.
In a letter of resignation addressed to the Bogoro ‘C’ Ward Chairman of the PDP, according to the report Dogara cited failure of governance in his home state, Bauchi, under the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed whom he helped install as a governor in 2019.
Dogara said that he cannot successfully ask questions about maladministration without being accused of disloyalty if he were to remain in the PDP.
Leave campaigners say we would have faced the second highest liability for a recovery fund for coronavirus-hit nations.
And that is twice the size of our divorce bill.
Former Brexit minister David Jones said: “We really have had the most incredible lucky escape. Had we stayed in the EU or agreed to a longer transition period we would have been on the hook for a potentially catastrophic sum.
“It’s extremely good we left when we did.”
The potential cost of extending the transition period would have been nearly twice that of Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s £30billion job protection scheme.
It was calculated by the Centre for Brexit policy think tank.
“Tens of thousands of people have already been given convalescent plasma in the US but these treatments were not randomized. They just give individuals convalescent plasma in the hope it will work. Vast quantities have been given and they still have no idea whether it helps or harms or has no impact.
“There are lots and lots of small drugs trials involving a few dozen or a few hundred patients going on in the US but nothing of any substance. They are failing to do large, randomised trials and that ends up providing bad medicine. It makes the practice of medicine poorer and the outcomes for patients poorer.
“If you look at the US, huge quantities of this treatment have been used on an arbitrary willy-nilly basis. The UK excels beyond measure compared with what’s going on there”
