Kamala Devi Harris, an American politician and attorney is currently, the Vice President-elect of the United States. She was born on October 20, 1964 in Oakland, California to her parents, Shyamala Gopalan and Donald Harris.
By January 20, 2021 when she would officially assume office, Kamala
would be the first Indian-American, the first African-American and the first
female Vice President in the United States, and as such the highest-ranking elected
female official in the United States’ political history.
Kamala is set to assume office alongside President-elect Joseph Biden, having defeated the incumbent President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence in the just concluded 2020 presidential election.
On her Instagram handle she posted a video where she had called up Joe
Biden to “We did it, Joe” and another post saying “While I may be the first
woman in this office, I will not be the last – because every little girl
watching tonight sees that this is country of possibilities”
