As the meeting ends once again in a deadlock, the federal government has threatened to slam legal actions against the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over its current protracted strike.
Chris Ngige, Labour and Employment Minister made this known at the end of the meeting which spanned about three hours in Abuja
Although both ASUU and Representatives of the federal government had characteristically expressed optimisms in their opening remarks about an end to the ongoing industrial action ASUU eventually insisted nothing new was brought to the table.
ASUU had on March 23 embarked on an indefinite strike over the Nigeria’s
government’s determination to implementing the Integrated Payroll and Personal
Information System.
