Nicki Minaj Addresses Genocide Claims in Nigeria, Seeks End to Killings
American rap icon Nicki Minaj has
stepped into the global spotlight not for her music, but for her activism, as
she publicly condemned alleged genocide and religious violence in Nigeria,
calling for urgent international action to end the killings.
On
November 18, 2025, Nicki Minaj delivered a keynote address at a United States
Mission to the United Nations conference titled “Combating Religious
Violence and the Killing of Christians in Nigeria.”
The event was convened by political strategist Alex Bruesewitz and featured U.S. Ambassador to the UN Michael Waltz. Minaj’s participation marked one of the most high-profile celebrity interventions in Nigeria’s ongoing crisis of insurgent and bandit violence, particularly targeting Christian communities.
