BRUTALITY CANNOT BE CURED WITH MORE BRUTALITY - UZODIMMA

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State in his address to Imolites says that "brutality cannot be cured with more brutality".

He made the statement during the recent #EndSars protest which rippled across Nigeria peacefully but reportedly hijacked by hoodlums at its tail.

ADDRESS TO THE NATION BY HIS EXCELLENCY, MUHAMMADU BUHARI, PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA ON THE ENDSARS PROTESTS

Fellow Nigerians,

It has become necessary for me to address you having heard from many concerned Nigerians and having concluded a meeting with all the Security Chiefs.

2. I must warn those who have hijacked and misdirected the initial, genuine and well – intended protest of some of our youths in parts of the country, against the excesses of some members of the now disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

We owe you a duty to win back your trust- Osinbajo

  

As Nigerians continue to call for an end to police brutality and total reform of the Nigerian Police Force, VicePresident Yemi Osinbajo has said that the Buhari-led government owes the Nigerian youths a duty of winning back their trust.

Osinbajo in an open letter to Nigerians, said efforts are currently being made to address all the issues raised in the end SARS protests. His letter reads:

Promoting National Security And Sustainable Development, The Imo State Experience

The security challenges confronting our Nation can be surmounted if all Nigerians, the leaders and the led, commit themselves to love for the country and the peaceful coexistence of our people.
