Unmasking Political Intrigue: The Greater Imo Initiative’s Fiery Press Conference
In a
charged and impassioned press conference streamed live by the Greater Imo
Initiative, a coalition of concerned stakeholders in Imo State, Nigeria,
launched a blistering critique against political figures they accuse of
undermining the state’s unity and democratic integrity.
The central figure of their condemnation was Chief Amadi, whose alleged actions and affiliations were portrayed as a grave threat to the political and moral fabric of the region.
The
conference opened with a strong defense of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
asserting that he has never, and would never, fund the sabotage of his own
party, the APC. The speakers described recent claims made by Amadi as
delusional and dangerous, accusing him of character assassination and
treasonous behavior. Particularly alarming was Amadi’s alleged boast of
printing sensitive electoral materials, including ballot papers and result
sheets, for the 2027 Imo governorship election, supposedly under the guise of
being a contractor for INEC and a front for its chairman, Professor Mahmood
Yakubu. These assertions were condemned as attempts to erode public trust in
Nigeria’s electoral process.
The
Initiative called on national security agencies to treat Amadi’s statements as
a red-alert security issue. They demanded immediate raids on his residences to
verify his possession of INEC materials, urging prosecution regardless of the
outcome, either for misinformation or for illegal possession of electoral
documents. The speakers expressed deep concern over Amadi’s apparent access to
security personnel, likening his entourage to that of a sitting governor, and
questioned how such an individual could infiltrate the ranks of Nigeria’s
security forces.
Further
allegations painted Amadi as a member of the 13th Veil Brotherhood, a secretive
cult allegedly involved in money rituals. His practice of distributing cash in
markets was described not as generosity but as a diabolical act tied to occult
obligations. His abandonment of the Jehovah’s Witness faith and denunciation of
Christianity were cited as further evidence of his moral deviation.
The
Initiative also condemned Amadi’s close ally, a federal legislator accused of
sponsoring violent attacks on journalists and converting a former NUJ
secretariat into a haven for criminals. They called on the Imo State government
to reclaim the property and restore order.
In a
passionate appeal to the people of Imo State, the speakers urged citizens,
especially market women to , reject Amadi’s overtures and remain vigilant. They
warned traditional rulers against bestowing chieftaincy titles on politicians
without thorough vetting and demanded transparency regarding Amadi’s
educational background and professional history.
The
conference concluded with a call to reject “prophets of doom” and “merchants of
chaos,” affirming that Imo’s progress would continue despite the distractions
of political charlatans.
The
Initiative pledged to defend truth and uphold the reputation of the state,
emphasizing that truth would ultimately triumph over the noise of lies
