Yomi Fabiyi’s Claim on Mohbad’s Death
Nollywood
actor Yomi Fabiyi has stirred public attention with a dramatic revelation
concerning the death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as
Mohbad.
On November 20, 2025, Fabiyi announced via social media that he is in possession of what he described as a video showing how Mohbad was killed. According to him, the clip was sent to him in an attempt to extort him, and he has since appealed directly to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the matter.
Fabiyi
stated that he had earlier written to the President in May 2025, alleging that
Mohbad was murdered. He claimed that the President’s office directed the
Inspector General of Police to investigate, harmonize, and prosecute those
involved.
In his
latest video, Fabiyi alleged that investigators at the Force Criminal
Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja had reviewed the case file and
identified key suspects complicit in what he described as a cover-up.
He
further asserted that Mohbad’s wife had turned herself in to authorities in
Abuja, but that attempts were being made to suppress the truth.
The actor
accused certain police officers of intimidation, suggesting that they were
trying to silence him because of the evidence he claimed to hold. He insisted
that the suspects were even being asked to file petitions against him over
alleged illegal arrests.
Fabiyi
emphasized that he was risking his life to remain loyal to the government and
to speak the truth, despite threats.
His
claims quickly went viral, sparking heated reactions across social media. Many
commentators urged him to hand over the alleged evidence to investigators
rather than making emotional appeals online.
The
controversy has added yet another layer to the ongoing debates and suspicions
surrounding Mohbad’s tragic death, which has remained a sensitive and
unresolved issue in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
