Wike Commends Abuja Projects: Judges Quarters Near Completion as FCT Infrastructure Push Gains Momentum
In Abuja,
the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has
voiced strong approval of the pace and quality of work on several landmark
projects, most notably the Judges Quarters in Katampe District.
His remarks came during an inspection tour on March 12, 2026, where he assessed progress at the Judges Quarters, the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal in Dakibiyu, Road CN2 in Katampe/Gishiri, and the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) carriageways.
The
inspection was strategically timed to ensure contractors remain on schedule
ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.

The
Judges Quarters project, designed to provide modern housing for members of the
judiciary, is nearing completion. It comprises 10 duplexes for the Federal High
Court, 20 for the FCT High Court, and 10 for the Court of Appeal.
Wike
revealed that the Federal High Court section is already being furnished, with the
entire complex slated for inauguration during the President’s anniversary
celebrations. Similarly, the Court of Appeal facility is expected to be handed
over by May 2026, underscoring the government’s commitment to strengthening
judicial infrastructure.
The
Minister praised the construction firm CGC for its reliability and the Federal
Capital Development Authority (FCDA) for its diligent supervision. He described
CGC as a company whose word can be trusted, highlighting the importance of
dependable partnerships in delivering critical infrastructure.
His
comments reflected not only satisfaction with the physical progress but also
confidence in the institutional oversight guiding these projects.
Beyond
infrastructure, Wike addressed political matters, particularly developments
within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He emphasized that genuine unity
must precede reconciliation among party factions, noting that the PDP’s
surprising success in the recent FCT council elections, securing 17 seats
including Gwagwalada Area Council, demonstrates resilience. He pointed to the
upcoming national convention as a decisive moment for the party’s future
direction.

motivation, he explained, is rooted in service and the unwavering support of
President Tinubu. He stressed that representing the President in the FCT is a
responsibility that demands total commitment, and that the President’s
confidence in his leadership fuels his determination to transform Abuja into a
model capital.
