NBC Trade Fair 2025 - Wema Bank Ignites Lagos’ Business Pulse
The
bustling economic heart of Lagos is abuzz as the NBC Trade Fair, hosted by Wema
Bank, officially commenced yesterday at the Whitestone Event Centre in Ikeja.
This three-day event, running from October 24 to 26, has drawn the attention of entrepreneurs, small business owners, and economic stakeholders across Nigeria, marking a significant moment in the country’s commercial calendar.
Following
the resounding success of its Island edition earlier this year, the NBC Trade
Fair returns to the mainland with renewed vigor and an expanded vision.
Organized
in collaboration with Naija Brand Chick (NBC), the fair is designed to empower
micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) by offering them a vibrant
platform to showcase their products, engage with customers, and build brand
visibility.
The event
features a diverse array of vendors spanning fashion, food, skincare,
lifestyle, and more, creating a dynamic marketplace that reflects the
entrepreneurial spirit of Nigeria’s commercial capital.
Wema
Bank, through its digital banking platform ALAT, is not only facilitating
commerce but also enhancing financial inclusion. Attendees can open accounts
on-site, participate in spin-the-wheel giveaways, and enjoy exclusive shopping
rewards when using Wema Bank or ALAT debit cards. These incentives are part of
the bank’s broader strategy to deepen customer engagement and support
grassroots businesses.
In a nod
to social responsibility, the fair also aligns with Breast Cancer Awareness
Month. Wema Bank is offering free breast cancer screenings to the first 300
women who attend the event, alongside access to affordable healthcare plans
starting at just ₦1,200. This initiative underscores the bank’s commitment to
community wellness and women’s health.
The NBC
Trade Fair has, over the past five years, become a cornerstone for MSME
development in Nigeria, having supported over 3,000 businesses with exposure
and growth opportunities.
This
year’s edition includes a business masterclass aimed at equipping entrepreneurs
with digital marketing skills, particularly in leveraging social media to scale
their ventures.
As the
fair unfolds, it is expected to generate significant foot traffic, stimulate
local commerce, and foster meaningful connections between vendors, consumers,
and financial institutions.
