Kebbi ADC Suspends ‘Self-Imposed’ State Chairman, Sadeeq Sami
In a
decisive move aimed at restoring internal order and reaffirming party
leadership, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has officially
suspended Sadeeq Sami, a prominent party figure accused of falsely presenting
himself as the state chairman.
The announcement was made public through a statement issued by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Atiku, and distributed to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.
According
to the statement, the suspension of Sadeeq Sami was prompted by his unauthorized
assumption of the role of state chairman, a position that is currently held by
Sufiyanu Bala.
The ADC’s
National Working Committee had previously resolved that all state chairmen
should retain their positions until the end of their tenure, which is scheduled
to conclude in May 2026. This directive was cited as the basis for the
disciplinary action taken against Sami.
The party
emphasized that Sadeeq Sami is not to participate in any ADC activities and
warned members and the public to disregard any claims or communications from
him that contradict the official stance of the party.
Furthermore,
the ADC called upon security agencies to intervene and prevent Sami from
engaging in any further activities under the guise of party leadership.
In
addition to addressing the issue of Sadeeq Sami, the statement also cautioned
against misinformation being spread by another individual, Dr. Sule-Iko, whose
unauthorized declarations were deemed inconsistent with the party’s official
position.
The ADC
urged its members, supporters, and the general public to remain aligned with
the constitutionally recognized leadership and to ignore any unofficial
narratives that could disrupt party unity.
