Synopsis

Ama’s mother pressures her to consider Emeka, a family friend, as a suitor. Ama resists, knowing Emeka doesn’t respect her values. The episode explores generational expectations and Ama’s fight to choose love on her own terms.

Ama’s mother speaks warmly but firmly.

MOTHER Emeka is stable. Respectful. He’s ready to settle down. What more do you want?

AMA EBONY Someone who sees me, not just my potential to be a wife.

SCENE 2 - EXT. GARDEN - DAY

Ama and Emeka talk.

EMEKA You’re too opinionated. Men don’t like that.

AMA EBONY Then I’m not for men. I’m for someone who values my voice, not fears it.

SCENE 3 - INT. FAMILY DINING ROOM - NIGHT

Ama addresses her mother.

AMA EBONY I’m not a project to complete. I’m a person to understand. Let me choose love, not inherit it.

Her mother is silent, reflective.
